Wash Insecurities – Reclaim Confidence

The manager had come out of a slump quite late in his career. He had tried some entrepreneurship in between as he wasn’t getting good job offers. The business did not work. But in the bargain, he had some losses that wiped off all his money.

So, here he was. Back with a job. Back with an organisation. Money was back with him. But he felt insecure. He felt that the tumult that what he had gone through would come back again.

The self-doubt wore him down. He continuously felt that he probably wasn’t good enough. The insecurities spread to his relationships, his career and work, his health and even his sense of humour. But here he was basically employed and overtly fine!

What would he do about his self-doubt?

Finishing insecurities needs only a change in your thinking. Insecurity is just a thought, and so is confidence.

Insecurity seems to have gripped most of us today, and we are often not even sure what makes us feel it. The source is mostly the negative information we consume from our environment or media. When we feel insecure about something, we are unable to fully trust ourselves, other people or situations. The manager knew many things rode on him keeping the job and yet the insecurities did not allow him full control over his faculties and excellence eluded him.

If your mind continues negative conversations, over a period insecurity becomes a part of your personality.

Let us not allow your mind to continue negative conversations over a prolonged period, because then insecurity becomes our personality. Insecurity is caused by our wrong thoughts of fear, doubt or anxiety. We can finish it by being confident, created by thoughts of optimism, self-belief and positivity.

The manager started doing the simple things right. Writing his schedule in detail in the morning. Thinking about work with a can-do approach. So on.

Consume positive information, remain optimistic and believe everything is perfect. They will turn out to be.

Consciously engage your mind in pure, positive inner talk. Surround yourself with positive, optimistic energy. Remind yourself, “I feel safe and secure. My life is perfect. I always have everything that I need.”

The manager is on the mend. His talent is now starting to show up. One of these days, he might make it to the top rung in the organisation! His wife waits with a new saree to go to that promotion party!
